The Role

Our Buying team, in partnership with our Designers, Planners and global sourcing team are critical to delivering our business strategy and the success of Kmart. As a buyer you will be responsible for driving growth in a specific category.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Developing ranges to establish the appropriate balance of Price, Volume, basics, quality, innovation and trend to deliver strong category growth.
  • Ability to recognize and interpret trends and build ranges to ensure consistent brand handwriting.
  • Using commercial skills, combined with the ability to analyse customer's needs and research to effectively deliver long term strategic growth.
  • Managing the end to end Critical Path process across functions to meet instore dates.
  • Managing and using strategies to achieve the financial plans including sales, profit and stock turn.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following critical skills and experience;

  • Extensive buying experience combined with trend awareness.
  • Commercial focus working in a dynamic fast paced team.
  • Highly driven and motivated.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven success driving category growth and delivering increased profit.
  • Success oriented - you thrive in a team environment and enjoy being able to contribute to a business where you can drive further growth.
