The Role

Providing efficient and timely support to the Buyer, covering all aspects of the portfolio and administration. You will assist in product range reviews, merchandise administration and management of samples.

Buying Assistant role offers variety and challenges, with a scope to develop your business skills and product knowledge to broaden your career path.

Key Responsibilities

Merchandise Product Development

  • Keycode registration and maintenance
  • Follow up on sample status, deliveries, and queries.
  • DSS approvals
  • Follow up on product development
  • Sample sign off

Sample Management

  • Follow up merchandise samples requested from supplier
  • Follow up quality control samples with suppliers
  • Maintain order of samples and keeping area tidy and hazard free
  • Co-ordinate samples to marketing and online
  • Follow up final samples for packaging and coordinate samples to the studio, including online products

Merchandise Presentation and Promotions

  • Enter relevant information into System
  • advertising samples to Marketing and Online as per timelines
  • Review d-marketer campaign pages and annotate changes
  • Merch check of marketing pages and other advertising material, including online
  • Maintain and keep an updated document that identify features and benefits of all products within department.

General Administration

  • Responding to customer service enquires from various sources
  • Completing legal checks of new products
  • Actioning all claims, rebates, store communications, withdrawals in a timely manner
  • Completing ACCC responses
  • Complete weekly reports for department where applicable
  • Complete advert results for each campaign

This role will also see you build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as the contact point for both store and supplier queries.


About You

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A strong customer focus
  • Strong computer literacy, with strong skills in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills 
  • Previous experience within retail will be highly regarded
  • A passion for product
