Inventory Specialist - Projects

The Role

  • Maximise on-shelf availability in 3rd Party Online Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) & DCs while optimising location inventory turns and minimising supply chain costs
  • Support further new business expansion
  • Create and optimise demand and fulfilment processes in line with broader inventory processes

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Understand the online exclusive and new business strategy and apply it to the role performed

 

Communicating & Influencing

  • Act as a single point of contact & resource for New Business team and CFC facility
  • Liaise between NB team and Inventory teams to understand requirements to support CFC processes and incorporate these into existing inventory systems and process.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders through proactive communication and collaboration
  • Drive an open and honest channel of communication with key stakeholders
  • Represents own interests while being considerate and fair to key stakeholders and their interests.

Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Review and maintain the integrity of region and location replenishment settings and parameters that drive CFC fulfilment systems and processes (Store SSCOV, LSPLs etc.)
  • Analyse CFC inventory flow and proactively apply learnings when setting system parameters to optimise stock flow
  • Identify system and process requirement for the ongoing management of CFCs
  • Drive the effective utilisation of Demand & Fulfilment systems and processes, maximising on-shelf availability while optimising inventory stock turns and minimising supply chain costs

Business & Commercial Acumen

  • Run and review available tools and reporting to support analysis of region and location inventory levels for key stakeholders.
  • Confident knowledge of region and locations and ability to discuss when asked.
  • Broad knowledge of all GM/AP merchandise impacts and ability to discuss when asked.
  • Provide recommendations and implement action plans in order to maximise Region/Location sales.
  • Present to Small Store Format Team, Stores, Team Leaders and Fulfilment team.
  • Confident and concise presentation of key points in relevant meetings.
  • Build knowledge of Kmart replenishment and allocation systems (i.e. KDW, Excel) to improve efficiencies.

Innovation

  • Drive continuous improvement of strategies and processes associated with managing CFC inventory levels and flow.

Service & Delivery Focus

  • Maintain evenness of Availability for Region/Location to agreed targets

About You

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities/Technology Used:

  • Strong understanding of the retail landscape including merchandise forecasting and replenishment concepts
  • Strong understanding of replenishment process and strategies
  • Strong influencing, communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Deep affinity for and understanding of store issues and requirements
  • Strong Customer Focus
  • Problem solving and proactive resolution skills
  • Prioritisation and organisation skills

Work Experience:

  • +5 years retail experience.
  • Retail store experience would be an advantage
  • Understanding of inventory management within a retail environment would be an advantage

Preferred Formal Education/Qualifications:

  • Tertiary

Mandatory Formal Education/Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of Inventory Management
  • Sound knowledge of Outlook and Excel
