What we’re looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Analytics Translator for Kmart’s digital business reporting into the Head of Strategic Projects and Analytics. The Analytics Translator will  be responsible for effective engagement, problem solving, alignment & communication between business users / stakeholders and the data engineering / data science team in the end-to-end business problem solving, scoping, solutioning, development and delivery of analytical solutions into production to realise strategic business value.

In this role you will be undertaking the following responsibilities;

  • Understand business goals / challenges & apply problem framing, design thinking and good understanding of analytics techniques to translate the requirements to data scientists/engineers and eventually translate back the analytical outputs back to the business teams
  • Ensure the analytics solution produces insights & results that the business can interpret and execute on, and, ultimately, communicates the benefits of these insights to business users to drive adoption & value realization.
  • Translate business needs / problems to data scientists & data engineers. Bridge the technical expertise of data engineers and data scientists with the operational expertise of online processes
  • Translate analytical outputs / models to business users / leaders – synthesize complex analytical derived insights into easy to understand, actionable recommendations that business users can easily extract on and execute
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to undertake diagnostics of the problems to solve for the business area. Produce insights that are actionable and drive the agreed upon business outcomes
  • Drive and measure value ($) benefits through the use-case(s) / priority that the Analytics Translator- Digital is leading / translating
  • Coordinate delivery including directly and indirectly managing resources
  • Uplift digital’s analytical capability by coaching and mentoring team members

About You

To be successful in securing this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • 5+ years’ experience in analytics translation, analytics consulting, data science/ML solutions
  • Experience working in Retail or Ecommerce. Good to have experience in improving digital customer experience by leveraging analytics / ML
  • Experience in analysing metrics and customer behaviours to draw key business actionable insights
  • Experience in analytics/ML – scoping, development, deployment & measurement (Ex. recommendation engines)
  • Experience coordinating global delivery and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience in performing exploratory data analysis
  • Ability to identify business problems that can be solved through efficient use of data and analytics. Drive a culture of data driven decisions within Digital / Online business.
  • Experience in agile development methodology
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business / Engineering / Science / Finance / Economics / Statistics)
