The Network Planning Team

The Network Planning team forms an important part of the Kmart Group Property function. We are focused on delivering best-in-class strategic planning and analysis as it relates to our store networks across Australia and New Zealand (Kmart, Target, KHub). We are continuously improving our understanding of how our customers shopping needs are evolving across different channels (instore, click and collect, home delivery), and the Analytics Translator role will have a critical role to play within the team and in how we influence the future shape of the Group network.

What we’re looking for?

We currently have an exciting new role for a Analytics Translator - Network Planning to join the Property team at Kmart . The primary responsibilities of this role are to work with Network team and Bangalore data engineers/data science team to:

  • Understand Network Planning team goals/ challenges & apply problem framing, design thinking and good understanding of analytics techniques to translate the requirements to data scientists and eventually translate back the analytical outputs back to the Network team
  • The Analytics Translator will be responsible for effective engagement, alignment & communication between Network team/stakeholders and the data engineering / data science team in the end to end scoping, development and agile delivery of data and analytical tools /solutions (incl Power BI dashboards) for use within Network Planning
  • Ensure the analytics solution produces tools, insights & results that the Network team can interpret and execute on, and ultimately, communicates the benefits of these insights to business users to drive adoption & value realization. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with business owners/partners, data scientists & engineers
  • An ability to break constraints and get things done, including a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and ‘pitch in’ where required
  • Ability to identify business problems that can be solved through efficient use of data and analytics.
  • Highly experienced in Power BI (+ other visualization / BI tools)
  • Experience in agile development methodology and product management

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in analytics translation, product ownership (for analytical products), analytics consulting, data science
  • At least 2+ years’ experience working in Analytics within Retail, with experience working within the field of geospatial analytics and insights
  • Experience working with location data, customer loyalty card data and credit card data products, geosocial and behavioural data
  • Experience in analysing metrics and customer behaviours to draw key business actionable insights
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience in performing exploratory data analysis
  • Advanced SQL and Excel skills and highly experienced in Power BI
