What we’re looking for?

To drive the success of Kmart and Target and maximise opportunities across both brands we have a senior leadership opportunity - Corporate Affairs Manager for 9 month contract role. The role will be focused on the Target brand and is based at our Target Store Support Office in William's Landing, however there will opportunities for close collaboration across the other Kmart Group brands.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs this role will contribute to the success of the division through the provision of a full range of communication and media strategies. This highly visible position will be responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external communications including reputation management that will contribute effectively to the business objectives and vision of the brand.

Working with an established team your key areas of focus will include developing strong relationships, both internally and externally, with team members and the media as you create and implement communication strategies that are fit for purpose and aligned to the brand’s objectives and desired outcomes.

Through your delivery of strategic insights and advice combined with your metrics analysis you will ensure the effectiveness of the corporate communication plans.  Internally you will develop and manage team communication engagement on major initiatives.  Externally you will help drive positive media and stakeholder engagement and image projection.  You will help lead the development of crisis and issues management plans, executive media consultation and manage ongoing government relations programs and stakeholder engagement.

Change communication will form a key part of your role as you develop and advise on organisational and change management strategies focusing on cultural and organisational change.

About You

You will be a highly experienced senior Corporate Affairs practitioner from a large and complex corporate environment with a broad range of stakeholders. You will have a strong reputation for delivering high level strategic, advice and plans, exceptional media relations experience coupled with a proven track record of success in internal communications, team engagement and internal branding.

Highly commercial and comfortable operating at all levels you will also be well versed dealing with senior management, executives and board members. A strong influencer, you will possess a sophisticated communication style and ability to deliver information. As an engaging leader, you champion the company values and lead with integrity, openness and transparency. Hands on, you are capable of working in a lean and low cost operating environment and you thrive in a fast-paced, changing business. You take an agile approach and are capable of quick decision making, working under pressure and dealing with the unexpected.
