What we’re looking for?

Kmart Technology is embarking on a journey that includes development and implementation of new software systems as well as cloud transformation involving existing system, to support not just growth of the business but also new business models. As a people leader for one of technology teams you will have an opportunity to be the agile leader, guiding and coaching the team, to solve complex problems and implement IT systems  related to product design, development, planning etc. with focus on making right Kmart products available to right customers at the right price.

We are looking for Delivery Manager, who will provide people leadership across multiple squads, create and manage technology roadmaps, be accountable for delivery of technology solutions. This role will see you work with product owners, and business stakeholders to prioritise and deliver business initiatives ensuring a consistent flow of work is planned for our high performing teams.

Specifically, this role will see you responsible for:  

  • Build and manage a productive relationship between IT and the relevant business stakeholders and functions in order to identify, prioritise and deliver applications and products, improving business outcomes, aligned to both the business and technology strategies. Owns BAU activities for the technology portfolio, drives RCAs and improves systems availability, performance and reliability.

  • Develop a strong and measurable engineering capability through introduction of new team members and continued capability uplift of existing team members.  Support the adoption of lean principles and Agile practices as and where appropriate 

  • Leadership – Develop and lead a high performing team, coaching and mentoring to ensure continual performance improvement. Ensure the delivery of high quality, fit for purpose solutions delivered through agile development approaches

  • Technology Strategy – Contribute to overall technology and strategic direction to ensure that engineering interests are considered and included; Manage and provide direction to technology partners


About You

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience:


  • At least 5 years in an IT leadership role
  • Experience in leading change within technology organisations

  • Proven experience in managing technology teams and engagement with senior stakeholders

  • Developing application solutions in a dynamic environment

  • Proven experience in modern engineering practices and an understanding of contemporary development practices, processes and technology

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

  • Demonstration of an Agile mindset and experience delivering in an Agile way of working.

  • Ability to lead and manage a large functional area comprising multi-disciplined teams

This role will suit those Delivery Managers who have an eye on the prize and don’t mind embarking on the journey to reach that prize.  This isn’t for the faint hearted, but will be fulfilling.  You will need to draw on your patience as moving on-prem systems to the cloud doesn’t happen overnight.   Are you up for it?
