What we’re looking for?

We are now seeking an experienced UI Designer (Contract Role) to be part of the  Online – Customer Experience team to join the Kmart family. This role will see you designing intuitive interfaces across both web and mobile interactions , 3+ years experience in a similar role and a degree with Design or similar is essential.

The role is ‘Focused on homepage and landing page updates to ensure our site is up to date with the needs or our customers and seasonal trends’

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Design inspiring and engaging website that connects customers with key products.
  • Increase the level of customer satisfaction and profitability of Kmart online shoppers.
  • Creating and updating UI design patterns to increase reuse and standardisation. 
  • Working with A/B testing analysts and devs to run tests understand the impacts of different design approaches.
  • Work closely with developers, research and UXers to ensure that any new UI design patterns are feasible and easy to use.
  • Creating and updating UI design patterns to increase reuse and standardisation.
  • Passionate about designing intuitive digital interfaces across both mobile and web applications
  • Creating and managing UI Designs from sketch to prototype to final digital design and handoff to developers (low and high fidelity)
  • Facilitating design reviews, feature workshops and usability testing with end-users
  • Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills and stakeholder engagement.

 

What will you do?

This role will suit someone with significant Online UI Designer experience.   You will be a strong people person who can work closely with all internal business partners along with our external stakeholders. Knowledge of Online UI Design and ability to manage multiple projects within a tight timeline are preferred.

  • Focusing strongly on mobile, but also considering desktop customers.
  • Taking part in regular design critiques to share your vision and gather feedback.
  • Managing your own workload to ensure you have the time you need to do a great job.
  • Constantly review ways of working to be improve quality and efficiency. 
  • Go above and beyond the job spec to ensure a quality product is delivered within project constraints.
  • Expert knowledge of Sketch and Invision.
  • Expert knowledge of ‘System Design’ approach to UI design and design system management.
