What we’re looking for?

Kmart is prioritising its analytical capabilities and we are looking for an Analytics Translator to join our Data & Analytics team. The Analytics Translator bridges the gap between the broader data engineering/data science team and the business to further develop the analytics strategy, develop analytics use cases and deliver & embed them to realise business value for Kmart.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for the following:

  • In conjunction with business stakeholders understand the business context and help define the problem statement and scope the business requirements.
  • Partner with the data scientists to scope the approach of the analytics solution that delivers to the business requirements.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders and lead a cross-disciplinary team in the end to end agile delivery of use-cases.
  • Communicate effectively the insights generated as well as the approach to business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensure effective management and coordination of multiple senior and operational level stakeholders in the alignment of knowledge, expectations and resolution of issues/risks.

About You

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Proven experience in consulting/business analysis/data product management
  • Ability to structure problems, undertake exploratory data analysis, generate insights and apply a commercial lens to activating those insights
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills
  • Experience in successfully implementing projects within tight deadlines  with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong demonstrated interest in data science and to leverage it to realise business benefits
