What we’re looking for?

Reporting in to the Head of Central operations, as part of the ‘One Simple Way of Working Program’; this role will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of all new future process of stores while embedding a continuous improvement mindset. Key responsibilities of this role will include;

  • Accountability for process, flow and lean design across the store value stream
  • Support our key lean transformational programs underway and planned within the Store pipeline
  • Responsible for adapting Lean methodology to Kmart’s reality, including Daily Lean and new projects to be developed
  • Oversee the Kmart innovation program and Lean methodologies
  • Lead a team of professionals comprising of Project Managers, Business Analysts and SME’s

About You

To be successful in securing this role, you will have extensive experience in a retail operations/stores environment leading teams through organisational change. You will also possess the following;

  • Formal qualifications in Engineering, Business or higher degree combined with a Post-graduation in Lean/Kaizen/Continuous Improvement
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of initiatives with demonstrated experience in operations
  • Strong experience in senior stakeholder management and communication
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully implement Daily Kaizen/Lean principles combined with experience in designing, testing and implementing projects that increase productivity in large organisations using lean thinking.
  • Ability to develop or adapt Lean theory to Kmart’s reality
  • The ability to recognise waste in a process sense.
  • Strong leadership skills in creating, development and maintain a high performing team culture
