The Kmart Group is comprised of Kmart, Target, Catch, and the Kmart Group Asia sourcing business. It was formed as the Department Stores Division in February 2016 and re-branded to the Kmart Group in January 2019. The division operates 520 stores across Australia and New Zealand, as well as a strong online presence, and employs more than 44,000 team members.

What will you do?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced People and Capability Reporting Analyst   to drive and develop Kmart Group's People and Capability agenda. As the People and Capability Analyst your responsibility is provide accurate reporting, insights and commentary for the People & Capability team and the wider business to be able to make informed decisions. Identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement of reports to better utilise available information to inform the business.

This role is responsible for managing all aspects of People and Capability Data / Reporting and leveraging business intelligence systems and data warehousing methodologies.  The People and Capability Reporting Analyst    will interpret business / management needs, scope requirements and liaise with a variety of stakeholders (including IT) in order to design and build optimum solutions, deliver metrics and evolve to sophisticated and intuitive analytics and insights.

This role will partner with People & Capability and senior leaders across the Kmart Group People Plan and align to our strategy and values. You will also engage and manage cross-functional stakeholder groups to execute key projects, as well as provide ongoing support and expert advice.

Other key responsibilities may include:

  • Strong numerical, problem solving, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Natural ability and professionalism to work with various internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and HR Information Systems such as Success Factors, SAP HR, preferably SAP Payroll, and Micro- strategy.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and embrace ambiguity, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage workload efficiently and prioritise tasks to best meet business demands.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and multiple data sources.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Manage and deliver people reporting across the Kmart Group business, ensuring it is accurate and relevant to support decision making and the overall business strategy 

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, IT or Statistics with strong working experience in data analysis, and BI.  Sound knowledge and  5+ years experience in data analysis in a fast-paced environment including proficiency and experience in business intelligence systems (Cognos, Success Factors, SAP).High proficiency in MS Excel (i.e. pivot tables, v/h lookup functions, macros, advanced formulas and advanced charting functions), ability to gather, interpret and document functional requirements for review / reporting and translate to technical requirements along with working knowledge of  Cognos, Success Factors and SAP with strong verbal and written communication skills. Deliver people reporting and analysis across the Kmart Group, ensuring it is accurate and relevant to support decision making and overall business strategy. Proactively design reporting across the Group as well continuously refine and enhance key HR metrics and reporting facts. As a People and Capability Reporting Analyst you will act  as SME for HR reporting requirements, support the HRIS Manager in identifying business needs and opportunities to enhance system and reporting requirements across the Group.

Automation of routine or low value reports to reduce reporting volumes and supporting the business access issues and improvements to the SuccessFactors HCM system via ‘HR System Admin’ role is essential to this role.
