We are looking for a Instructional Designer for a 12 month FTC fulltime position reporting into the Learning and Design Manager, this role will use contemporary instructional design methodologies to develop high quality learning solutions and resources that improve performance. This is a critical role which requires an experienced and capable instructional designer who has an ability to bring content to life through the design and development of engaging and creative learning interactions to complement a contemporary learning delivery approach. Summary of the key responsibilities of this role outlined as follows:

  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders and end users from all areas of the business, locally and internationally, to design and develop effective learning solutions to meet the needs of the Kmart Group.  
  • Develop targeted materials that meet the learning need across a range of delivery channels such as facilitator guides for virtual and face-to-face workshops, e Learns, animations, videos and on-the-job activity guides.
  • Lead projects from a learning design and development perspective
  • Recognise and research future trends and best practice to ensure solutions keep pace with the changing needs of the business and deliver on the business strategies.

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Qualification in instructional / curriculum design
  • A Certificate IV (or above) in Training and Assessment and/or Adult Education will be highly regarded
  • A depth of experience in instructional design - working on end-to-end learning projects including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing a range of learning experiences including: eLearns, animations, instructional videos, face-to-face and virtual workshops, on-the-job or self-paced activities, gamification/paced learning.  
  • Experience building learning and development solutions for both leadership and technical/operational needs
  • A high level of expertise in a range of authoring tools such as eLearn, animation, video. As a minimum has experience using Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline).
  • Ability to lead projects and work autonomously, creating robust project plans and managing own time and that of others to meet milestones
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an environment of high activity, competing priorities and time pressure.
