Kmart is currently looking for 2 experienced UX Specialists to support our busy and continuously evolving online team. This role will be translating the business objectives and combining them with user needs and insights to create deliverables such as scenarios, user journeys, sitemaps, wireframes and interactive prototypes, all to present to stake holders in an exciting and meaningful way.

This role will allow you to think inside and outside the box by understanding what the ‘box’ is. Other key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Assisting in the delivery of the UX roadmap to enhance shopping online experience
  • Conduct user requirements analysis including gathering insights, creating user scenarios, and conducting task analysis.
  • Work closely with customers, stakeholders, business analysts, visual designers and developers to produce intuitive interface design solutions.
  • Work with visual designers to ensure that pages not only look great but are structured in a way that makes it easy for customer to complete their missions with ease.
  • Work with A/B testing analysists to refine the live customer experience.
  • Aid the development of specific usability guidelines and patterns.
  • Ensure a collaborative approach is taken with the concept and wire framing of a project.

To be successful in securing this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • A talent for creating simple, powerful user experiences combined with significant knowledge of user-centred design methodologies
  • A strong working knowledge of information architecture, task-flow models, wire-framing, design specifications and guidelines.  (Especially for mobile)
  • Ability to carry out customer research, such as user testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to plan, prioritise and organize effectively, working on multiple, simultaneous projects of all sizes and complexity across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about usability and accessibility, with the ability to translate this into your work.
  • Strong documentation, communication and prototyping skills. With knowledge of a few tools to do this with e.g. Axure, Sketch, Marvel, a white board etc.
  • Ability to run effective design critiques.
  • A good understanding of Agile, Lean, Design Thinking.  How they work and what might work for us.
