What we’re looking for?

Reporting in to the Finance Manager Property, the role of Commercial Analyst - Property is central to providing all the commercial insights and analysis on Kmart’s new store and store refit operations as well as the store leasing portfolio. We are now seeking an experienced financial analyst to become a contributing team member. Summary of the key responsibilities of this role outlined as follows;

  • Provide commercial support and financial advice on new stores, refit stores and lease renewals
  • Identify trends and identify the key drivers of over and under performance across the store network
  • Seek to continuously improve and drive efficiency opportunities across property and renewal processes
  • Build and provide key input into key initiatives and construct well thought out and thorough business cases for presentation to both the property and board meetings
  • Support the delivery of strategic property and finance initiatives eg: Relentless Pursuit for Lowest Prices

About You

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce or related discipline (required) combined with advanced degree or professional qualification CA/CPA/MBA (preferred)
  • Strong financial modelling skills (ideally within large, fast-paced, high volume environments)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel with knowledge of VBA/Macros) and advanced analytical skills
  • Experience in the use of Financial Systems (preferably SAP and Tm1) including accounting and general ledger experience
  • Experience in a commercial finance or property role will be advantageous but not essential   
  • Ability to drive improvements and meet tight deadlines combined with advanced structured/unstructured problem-solving skills
