Reporting to the Manager Risk & Compliance, this role is responsible for overseeing the safety systems program that underpins the health and safety program within Kmart stores.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an up and coming Safety Systems individual to document and deliver the safety inspection and audit materials within Kmart stores. You will bring experience within a regulatory role, and be able to apply your health and safety knowledge and organisational skills in this highly rewarding, environment.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Implement and monitor the store safety strategies each quarter
  • Design materials, tools and checklists to be used in store safety inspection programs
  • Identify store based hazards and prepare risk assessments as requested
  • Deliver the audit management program to ensure adherence to risk assessment requirements 
  • Maintain records and register of all audits and inspections, ensuring ongoing monitoring and action

Please note the role is part time 3 days per week and based in Mulgrave (South Eastern suburb of Melbourne)

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Bachelor Degree qualified in health or safety
  • An understanding of workers compensation processes, self-insurance and relevant regulatory requirements 
  • Experience working in complex, fast paced environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and project skills
  • Strong computer skills with experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite with preparation of reports and data management
