Reporting in to the National Lean Renewal Manager, this role will support our key lean transformational programs currently underway and planned for the future. In addition, this role is part of a wider team that will partner with, and complement through guidance and expertise, the already high calibre stakeholder teams that operate throughout the business today, with the aim to deliver strategic improvements that benefit Kmart.    Summary of the key responsibilities of this role outlined as follows;

  • Provide Lean/Kaizen and program management consultation and delivery support, change management, financial analysis & reporting support, and portfolio management & governance (e.g. implementation, sequencing, pipeline management) for our lean transformation pipeline of work.
  • Take lead Project Management role in the latest initiative and ensure plan is tracking to timeline and deliverables
  • Help projects deliver benefit in a consistent, standardised manner, and to partner with the business (such as HR, L&D) to inform a consistent approach to managing transformational change.
  • Design Lean/Kaizen workshops to help deploy the ideal plan
  • Drives and ensures that sustainable, relevant and best practice solutions to business problems are explored, assessed and delivered.
  • Ensures approaches are well thought out and analytical in breaking down complex problems, particularly the origins of root cause and alignment to ultimate desired business outcomes.
  • Support in the shaping and mobilisation of the services and delivery operating model for transformational change partnership across the business

To meet the challenges of this critical role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Formal qualifications in Engineering and/or similar business-related degree combined with Continuous Improvement Capability (Lean, Kaizen, 6 Sigma) –highly favourable
  • Change Management Expertise or experience and Portfolio, Program and/or Project Management with emphasis on being highly capable in business analysis
  • Experience in managing end-to-end an allocated portfolio of programs in terms of sequencing, tracking and assessments (program life cycle)
  • Experience in delivery and strategy relating to continuous improvement and implementation of change
  • Flexibility to travel across interstate and New Zealand approx. once per month
  • Those with specific expertise in portfolio retail operations (store operations, supply chain, inventory, store renewal, shared services, IT) would be strongly regarded
