We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to join us at our Eastern Creek (NSW) Distribution Centre.

As the Continuous Improvement Manager, your purpose will be to direct, co-ordinate, supervise and achieve the service objective of a dedicated function of the daily operation in conjunction with the 3PL Team members & Kmart team members.  You’ll be required drive daily operations on site to deliver safety, leadership, service and ensure financial performance targets are met.

In this role, you will also, 

  • Execute strategic and functional planning processes collaboratively with stores 3PL Team members or Kmart Team Members, plan effective resourcing to meet productivity targets, produce accurate reporting for stores on transport and cluster and load via planning tool
  • Lead and Coach team members towards the agreed plan either via third party providers or direct Kmart team managers of resources to ensure productivity targets and improvements are realised
  • Lead, drive and champion lean and continual improvement culture in particular problem solving within each area and Change Management
  • Lead and Coach service providers to deliver against agreed service levels and KPIs, as per their 3PL service level agreements and job descriptions
  • Implement, drive and hold accountability for compliance to agreed working standards & operational specifications on site
  • Sign off operational specifications and implement DC Way requirements
  • Participate in procurement processes as operational subject matter expertise
  • Provide Subject Matter expert collaboration and communication of Kmart requirements to service providers.

    The ideal candidate will have;

  • Related tertiary qualification in logistics is desirable, other associated post graduate qualifications in business management, warehousing or logistics would be highly regarded
  • Logistics management experience, within warehousing, transport or supply chain
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a small to medium team to deliver safety, leadership, service and financial performance targets (KPIs)
  • Demonstrated leadership, relationship building, communication and teamwork skills
  • Capacity to be an effective and positive change agent, continuous improvement of championing innovation experience.
  • Effectively leads by example across the entire supply chain leadership network
  • Knowledge of warehousing and distribution best practice, in particular Lean culture and philosophies as well as solid Industrial Relations understanding
  • Occpational, Health &Safety  knowledge and experience
  • Ability to determine manpower and equipment required to meet scheduled workloads & experience interpreting and adhering to EBA requirements to achieve productivity measures for specific functions
  • Sound DG and non DG freight handling and COR responsibilities
