An exciting role has arisen for a highly experienced Seasonal Womenswear Designer to join our design team. This is a critical design role for Kmart so your passion for design and your ability to partner with our Buyers to ensure continued success in the department is essential. This is a seasonal role which is spread across three very different products (Swimwear, Jackets & Knitwear)

This opportunity will see you work collaboratively with the merchandise teams whilst at the same time researching and developing apparel product from concept to final sign off, managing the production of artwork for overseas manufacturers and working closely with a buying team throughout the seasonal cycle.

You will work in an environment that supports your creative flair and you will see millions of Kmart customers wear your designs. The role has a strong trend component, and you must be capable of completing significant research across diverse portfolios. You will need to be highly creative, commercial, collaborative, incredibly well organised with strong time management skills, deadline driven and process orientated.

Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to ensure speed to market and product differentiation from competitors. You will have already made a strong impact in previous roles and your sound background in graphic design, garment construction, technical drawings, fabric knowledge, textile yardages and placements will be integral to your success.

Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator CS and Adobe Photoshop CS will give you the ideal background to excel in this position. You will also have the ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders whilst driving results through strong negotiation and your comprehensive understanding of market trends.
