To generate real value to the Kmart Supply Chain we have a number of significant initiatives underway that contribute to improving; safety, productivity and data integrity all whilst maintaining a focus on reducing costs through the use of technology and process improvements. We are now seeking an experienced Design and Automation Manager to lead the innovation in our Distribution Centres.

Overall responsibilities of role will include the following;

  • Reviewing our DC’s current state and making recommendations on the DC design and automation to ultimately reduce cost and create efficiencies;
  • Lead the implementation of the recommendations across the DC network
  • Manage outcomes on projects to ensure they are delivered to agreed benefits, quality standards, timelines and budget
  • Manage effectively the business impacts resulting from project and innovation. Ensure stakeholders are engaged and providing support as required

To be successful in securing this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • A background in Warehousing, Supply Chain, DC Operational or Manufacturing industries
  • Tertiary education in relevant supply chain or IT areas (preferred)
  • A continuous improvement background, focused on LEAN methodology
  • Experienced with automation technology across the globe
  • Strong experience in designing an automation solution
  • Experienced in managing and delivering on projects that have focused on continuous improvement, supplier management and the end to end supply chain
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proven experience in delivering successful outcomes and managing business projects and change initiatives
  • High level organisational and planning skills
  • Proven track record of building, leading, coaching and motivating teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders
  • Experienced in issue resolution and negotiation to drive positive outcomes
