Lease Management Executive

Wesfarmers, one of Australia’s largest listed companies has diverse business operations that include an extensive retail and industrial portfolio. The Department Store Division was created enable Kmart and Target to maximise and share opportunities and support the growth of both these famous Australian businesses.

A unique opportunity is now available to join the Department Stores Division as a Lease Management Executive assisting the Lease Management Team with managing its retail leases nationally in a fun, friendly and driven team. 

This is a busy and challenging role with a key focus on review and analysis of landlord charges against agreed lease terms. In particular, the implementation and finalisation of shopping centre operating costs will form a large part of your responsibilities.

Reporting to the National Portfolio Manager, you will be required to engage with a number of internal and external stakeholders including landlords, finance, leasing and legal teams.  You will also be involved in negotiating and managing lease disputes with landlords in a confident and professional manner. Providing advice on property related matters and involvement of special projects will be a requirement of the position.

You will require knowledge of accounting principles relating to lease forecasting and budgeting and will be responsible for reporting on lease charges.

About You

As an experienced Lease Management Executive, you will have prior experience working for either landlord, retailer or shopping centre management with proven ability to manage a high volume of leases. Familiarity with PEPS Software or similar property information management system highly regarded.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, strong attention to detail, financial acumen and problem-solving skills.  You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of retail leases, shopping centres and how they operate with ability to clearly evaluate risk outcomes. 

Confident building new relationships, you will be capable of exercising judgement and discretion and influence outcomes.  You will be proactive in managing workload, and will assist the Property team with meeting its overall objectives.

You will be able to manage professional relationships at all levels, demonstrate initiative to improve department processes and procedures and possess great time management and organisational skills to be able to meet tight deadlines and ability to prioritise workloads.
