Based in our Head Office in Mulgrave, Melbourne an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Womens Intimates Designer to join our Design team on a contract basis (7 months) to cover a Maternity Leave position, focussing on designing women's intimates. This is one of our largest portfolios and will see you quickly become a crucial part of the team, so we are seeking a well-qualified candidate who is capable of jumping in and hitting the ground running in this fast pace environment.
This role covers 3 main areas:
Use your creative flair! As a womens Intimates designer you will be responsible for designing from concept to sign off. You will be required to interpret briefs, produce tech packs, update range pages, colour up the range, create presentations and artwork.
Essential to your design repertoire will be your strong understanding of fabric and fit as is Adobe CS Suite.
TREND FORECASTING and RANGE BUILDING
You love trends! The role has a strong trend component and given we are a Design led model, your knowledge and opinions will be valued! You will use your expertise to trend forecast key items, details, fabrics and have the ability to present your forecasts to your key stakeholders across merchandise. You will have strong ranging skills and be capable of pulling together a cohesive range
You will bring to the role a strong understanding of range architecture, entry/exit prices, cost prices, profit margins, volume and how to drive category growth and will possess commercial handwriting that fits in with Kmart everyday day low price strategy.
Collaboration is key! Working closely with the Buyer part of your role will include account management which will see you influencing situations and outcomes. You will require strong stakeholder management skills coupled with the ability to manage up and down and will have prior experience partnering with a Buyer. Teamwork is a given as you work in partnership with various departments across the business including our Asia Sourcing team.
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to ensure speed to market, understanding of market trends and product differentiation from competitors. You will have already made a strong impact in previous roles and your sound background in womenswear design will be integral to your success. You will have a structured approach, be incredibly well organised with strong time management skills, deadline driven and process orientated.
